Spell vamp is lifesteal's magic-damage counterpart — it heals the caster for a percentage of damage dealt through skills rather than basic attacks, making it relevant for mages and skill-reliant fighters rather than auto-attack carries. It's similarly reduced against non-hero targets and countered by anti-heal items like Necklace of Durance. A mage build leaning into spell vamp can sustain through poke exchanges that would otherwise force a recall.
