How to counter Vale

MageMid Lane

6 hard counters, 4 soft · 4 counter-items · full Vale guide

What Vale is bad at

  • No dash or blink of his own — once Windblow and Windstorm are both on cooldown he has zero personal escape
  • Windstorm telegraphs for a full 1.6 seconds before detonating, giving alert enemies a window to simply walk out of the ring
  • Windtalk's move-speed stacks require kills or assists to build, so a losing lane leaves him with no mobility bonus at all
  • Squishy like any mage — a single burst combo landing on him before his own combo is ready ends the fight instantly

Every counter below works by pressing one of these.

Why Vale works

Vale is a mid-lane mage who controls space with a three-part wind kit: Wind Blade pokes from range, Windblow knocks enemies airborne into a lingering damage zone, and Windstorm drags anyone nearby into its center for 1.6 seconds before detonating for enormous magic burst. Windtalk's permanent move-speed stacks reward him for staying aggressive after every kill or assist.

Common questions

Who counters Vale in Mobile Legends?

Gloo, Alice, Khaleed, Ling, Valentina all beat Vale. Gloo is the hardest counter: Grab, Grab attaches Gloo to Vale and rides along wherever he goes, so Windblow's knockup and Windstorm's pull never create the distance he needs, while 80% of the damage Gloo takes gets dumped straight onto him.

What items should I build against Vale?

Tough Boots: Cuts the duration of Windblow's knockup and Windstorm's pull/slow, making it far easier to walk out of the detonation ring in time. Winter Crown: Its damage-negation window can be timed to void Windstorm's detonation, the single biggest chunk of Vale's burst. Athena's Shield: Flat magic damage reduction blunts the one-time nuke at the end of Windstorm before it can finish a low-HP target. Immortality: Guarantees a second chance after eating a full Windblow-into-Windstorm combo, which is usually enough burst to kill a squishy hero outright.

What is Vale's biggest weakness?

No dash or blink of his own — once Windblow and Windstorm are both on cooldown he has zero personal escape
