How to counter Suyou
5 hard counters, 5 soft · 4 counter-items · full Suyou guide
What Suyou is bad at
- Hold-cast Immortal form skills have a longer wind-up than their tap-cast versions, giving alert enemies time to interrupt or walk out before the charge or cleave lands
- Tap-cast Mortal form trades away the stacking physical damage reduction for speed, leaving him as squishy as any other assassin while engaging
- No hard crowd control anywhere — the only control he has is the slow on tap-cast Evil Queller — so any clean dash or Sprint-type escape simply walks out of his combo
- Immortal form's damage reduction scales off his own Extra Physical Attack, so it is weak before he has core items, leaving early jungle contests risky

Hard counters to Suyou
Pick one of these and the matchup is decided before the fight starts.
SilvannaFighterHardImperial Justice cannot be interrupted while casting and restrains the closest enemy for 3.5 seconds, so diving her mid-cast is exactly how Suyou gets pinned. Knightess' Resolve shreds his defenses with every hit while she gains 100% Attack Speed and 40% Lifesteal inside her own Circle of Light.
JoyAssassinHardEvery Meow, Rhythm of Joy! cast on the beat hands Joy another shield, and Ha, Electrifying Beats! stacks Physical and Magic Defense plus Spell Vamp on top, letting her simply outlast Suyou's burst windows. Those same four chained dashes dodge the directional skillshots of Blade Surge and Evil Queller outright.
UranusTankHardRadiance turns every hit Suyou lands into HP regen for Uranus, so an extended trade only makes him healthier, and Consecration tops him straight back up while granting 15 Radiance stacks outright. Transcendent Ward's shield then detonates for a second burst, undoing the lost-HP scaling Soul Sever wants.
OdetteMageHardSwan Song is a self-centered five-second channel that slows everything nearby by 90% on cast, so it chews through Suyou's HP pool whether he dashes in or holds a wind-up. Blue Nova's 1.5-second immobilize then pins him inside it, and he has no cleanse.
YveMageHardVoid Crystal's slow stacks another 6% for every hit, so crossing to melee range takes far longer than one dash covers. Real World Manipulation then lets her keep firing from a Starfield with Displacement Immunity and a shield, well outside anything Suyou can reach in a single engage.
Soft counters
Favourable, but Suyou can still play around them.
GusionAssassinSoftSword Spike marks a target and teleports Gusion behind them, and Incandescence resets both dagger skills for a second full volley faster than Suyou can commit to a hold-cast Immortal form. Suyou has no hard CC to interrupt that chain, so early jungle duels often resolve before his own damage reduction comes online.
AamonAssassinSoftAamon's Camouflage triggers on every skill hit, making him untargetable for a follow-up basic right after a trade, so Suyou can't reliably finish him with a second engage. Both are jungle burst assassins racing for the same kill window, and Aamon's stealth resets give him the safer margin.
HarithMageSoftChrono Dash shields Harith on every dash and Zaman Force cuts its cooldown by four seconds, so he always has another out before Suyou's single gap-closer connects. A missed hold-cast Blade Surge against him usually leaves Suyou the one caught out of position.
MathildaSupport · AssassinSoftGuiding Wind leaps Mathilda in with a shield and guides the first ally it touches to her side, pulling the priority target Suyou just committed to out of range entirely. She can escape an all-in before Soul Sever's lost-HP scaling ever gets going.
NatanMarksmanSoftEntropy?'s Reverse-Clone lets Natan pour Superposition damage from two angles at once from well outside Blade Surge's dash range, and swapping places with it removes him from Suyou's melee window entirely. His kit rewards kiting rather than trading in close.
Items to build against Suyou

Blade ArmorIn Immortal form his basic attacks hit for 125% damage, and Blade Armor's passive reflects a portion of that physical basic-attack damage straight back at him.
ImmortalitySoul Sever's tap-cast sweep scales its damage off lost HP, so it hits hardest against someone already low — Immortality's revive shield undoes exactly that kill.
Dominance IceMortal form shortens his Basic Attack interval to chase kills, and 40 Physical Defense plus its anti-heal blunt that window.
