When to build it

Counters basic-attack-reliant lifesteal marksmen/fighters: Lifebane cuts the attacker's Shield/HP Regen to 60% for 1s on every hit they take from you, while Fortress Shield scales defense with more enemies nearby. Buy the moment an enemy carry is snowballing on autos and lifesteal.
