Baxia — hero art from Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Baxia

Magic-scaling anti-heal tank who leaps walls to shut down sustain comps

TankJungleDeals magic

Baxia is a magic-damage Tank whose entire kit — Baxia-Shield Unity, Shield of Spirit, and Tortoise's Puissance — scales off Magic Power rather than the flat defense stats most tanks build. His passive, Baxia Mark, gives him permanent flat damage reduction and applies a 50% shield-and-HP-regen debuff on every skill hit, making him a built-in answer to sustain-heavy enemy compositions. He can also leap over walls with his first skill for surprise engages.

Strengths

  • Baxia Mark applies a 50% shield-and-HP-regen reduction on skill hits, making him a built-in anti-heal tank.
  • Baxia-Shield Unity can leap over walls and minion waves for surprise ganks or fast objective rotations.
  • Passive flat damage reduction scales with level, giving him strong sustained frontline durability.
  • Tortoise's Puissance covers a wide lava path with slow and damage while amplifying his own damage reduction.

Weaknesses

  • All of his damage scales off Magic Power, so a pure defense-item build leaves his kit doing very little.
  • No hard crowd control beyond a short stun — packs less lockdown than dedicated engage tanks like Tigreal or Atlas.
  • Low personal burst compared to true-damage-oriented tanks, so he struggles to punish backline dives alone.
  • Shield of Spirit's disappearing-on-first-hit projectile can be soaked entirely by a stray minion.

Skills

Max Shield of Spirit first for the anti-heal poke and slow, level Baxia-Shield Unity second for mobility, take the ultimate at 4, 8, 12.

Baxia-Shield Unity

Speed UpCC

Baxia retracts himself into his shield and accelerates forward for 9 seconds. When hitting an enemy unit, he will deal 300–400 (+60% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to it and nearby enemies, stunning the target for 0.8 second and slightly knocking other nearby enemies back. During the process of accelerating forward, use this skill again to launch Baxia upward so that he can cross obstacles and enemy minions.

Meanwhile, marks them for 5 seconds and slows them down by 50% for 1 second. The shield disappears upon hitting the first enemy hero or creep. Baxia can cast this skill again for 5 seconds.

Playing Baxia well

  1. 1

Use Baxia-Shield Unity to leap over jungle walls for surprise ganks the enemy won't see coming on the minimap.

  2. 2

Recast Shield of Spirit as soon as it lands on an enemy hero to refresh the cooldown chain and keep the anti-heal mark up.

  3. 3

Lead a dive with Tortoise's Puissance to threaten the lava path and force enemies off position before your team arrives.

  4. 4

Prioritize hitting enemy healers or lifesteal carries with your skills first to trigger the anti-heal mark where it matters most.

Baxia — common questions

Is Baxia good for beginners?

Baxia is moderate difficulty — his engage and stun combo is easy to execute, but leaping over walls with Baxia-Shield Unity and timing the Shield of Spirit recast for map control takes practice to use well.

What is the best build for Baxia?

The Anti-Heal Tank build (Tough Boots, Dominance Ice, Clock of Destiny, Queen's Wings) covers his magic-scaling damage and his role as a sustain-denial pick. Switch to the Full Tank Peel build when your team already has enough damage and needs pure durability.

Is Baxia's damage physical or magic?

All of Baxia's skill damage — Baxia-Shield Unity, Shield of Spirit, and Tortoise's Puissance — scales off Magic Power, so he needs at least one magic-power item even in a defense-heavy build to have any real damage output.

Which heroes counter Baxia?

Fanny and Kaja are the hardest counters. Fanny's cable mobility lets her bypass his engage entirely, and Kaja's suppression ultimate can lock Baxia down and drag him away before he can peel for his team.
