Hanabi — hero art from Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Hanabi

STier

Bounce-damage marksman who tanks CC through her own shield mid-fight

MarksmanGold LaneDeals physical

Hanabi is a gold-lane marksman built around Equinox's shield, which grants full immunity to control effects while active, letting her stand in a fight other marksmen would kite from. Petal Barrage bounces off every basic attack and skill hit, so she scales hardest against grouped enemies.

Difficulty
Moderate
Specialities
FinisherDamage

Equinox has to be pre-cast before a dive lands, and Soul Scroll's mark has to be applied before the first basic attack or the bounce combo loses its damage.

Strengths

  • Equinox grants control immunity while shielded, letting her stand through a stun chain other marksmen can't
  • Petal Barrage bounces off every basic attack and skill hit, punishing enemies who group up
  • Soul Scroll's mark removes bounce damage decay, guaranteeing a full-damage follow-up hit
  • Higanbana's delayed bloom threatens everyone standing near the first target, not just the target

Weaknesses

  • No shield up means no control immunity — she dies to any lockdown chain that catches her without Equinox ready
  • Shorter effective range than most gold-lane marksmen, forcing riskier positioning to land Soul Scroll
  • The instant Equinox's shield expires she is back to marksman-squishy with nothing covering the recast cooldown
  • Fully reliant on landing basic attacks for late-game value, so attack-speed slows and disarms cripple her

Skills

Max Soul Scroll first for the poke and the mark, put the remaining points into Equinox, and take the ultimate at levels 4, 8 and 12.

Ninjutsu: Petal Barrage

Buff

Hanabi's Basic Attacks and Skills will launch Petal Blades after hitting a target, bouncing up to 4 times to nearby enemies (the first bounce deals 40% of the damage, and subsequent bounces deal 85% of the previous). Bounces from her Basic Attacks inherit a portion of Attack Effects.

ShieldBuff

Passive: The secret Ninjutsu of the Scarlet Shadow makes Hanabi immune to control effects when she has a shield from any source. Active: Hanabi gains a 300–600 (+40% Total Physical Attack) shield for 5 seconds. When the shield is active, Hanabi gains 20% Movement Speed, 25% Attack Speed, and 20% of damage dealt will also be added to this shield (only 10% of the damage dealt to non-hero units). The shield cannot exceed 50% of Hanabi's max HP.

Enemy units hit will also be marked, allowing Hanabi's next Bounce Damage from Basic Attacks to deal 30–180 (+100% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage on them with no damage decay.

Duo partners whose kit completes this one.

Playing Hanabi well

  1. 1

Pre-cast Equinox before diving into a fight, not as a reaction to an incoming stun — the immunity only applies while it's already up

  2. 2

Land Soul Scroll before your first basic attack in a trade to guarantee full, undecayed bounce damage

  3. 3

Throw Higanbana into a grouped enemy team rather than a lone target to get value from the bloom's second hit

  4. 4

Kite around the movement and attack speed window Equinox grants instead of standing still to tank damage

Hanabi — common questions

Is Hanabi good for beginners?

She's approachable — her damage comes from basic attacks and a shield that's easy to time — but getting real value out of Equinox's control immunity and Soul Scroll's mark takes practice to sequence correctly.

What is the best build for Hanabi?

Windtalker into Berserker's Fury and Malefic Roar covers attack speed for the bounce mechanic, crit for raw damage, and penetration against tanks; add Sea Halberd or Queen's Wings depending on what the enemy team threatens.

Which heroes counter Hanabi?

Lolita and Ixia are the hardest matchups since both can deny or interrupt the marks her bounce damage depends on; Beatrix and Natalia punish her low durability before she gets a combo off.

How do you use Hanabi's Equinox shield correctly?

Cast it before committing to a fight, not after you're already being CC'd — the control immunity only applies while the shield is already active, so reacting to a stun is too late.
