Brody — hero art from Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Brody

ATier

Mobile marksman who stacks Abyss Marks and detonates them for a group burst

MarksmanGold LaneDeals physical

Brody trades attack speed for mobility — his passive lets him walk while winding up basic attacks, so he never has to plant his feet to deal damage. Every hit stacks Abyss Mark, and Torn-Apart Memory detonates every stack on every target in range at once, turning a marked teamfight into an instant burst kill rather than a sustained DPS check.

Positioning Torn-Apart Memory to hit multiple marked targets and timing Corrosive Strike's stun before the marks decay takes real reps, even though the basic-attack loop itself is simple.

Strengths

  • Can move freely while winding up Basic Attacks, making him far harder to kite or juke than a standard marksman
  • Torn-Apart Memory detonates every Abyss Mark on every hero it hits, turning poke damage into a group execute
  • Corrosive Strike is a dash and a stun in one skill, giving him a self-sufficient engage other marksmen lack
  • Abyss Impact's spreading shockwave applies Abyss Mark to an entire wave, rewarding good positioning in teamfights

Weaknesses

  • Mobile Basic Attacks come with a longer wind-up animation and lower Attack Speed, so raw DPS in extended trades is below a standard crit marksman
  • Torn-Apart Memory's damage is worthless without pre-existing Abyss Marks, so a burst combo on an unmarked target is weak
  • Low base durability with no personal escape besides Corrosive Strike's short dash
  • Abyss Mark decays off targets who disengage, so poke-heavy enemies can bait it out before the ultimate detonates

Skills

Max Abyss Impact first for the wave-wide marking and slow, level Corrosive Strike for the stun but don't max it early, and take Torn-Apart Memory at every level it's available.

Abyss Corrosion

Buff

With his Basic Attacks resonated with the Abyss Power within his body, Brody is able to move while winding up his Basic Attacks (which will be interrupted when casting skills), at the cost of having longer Basic Attack Animation and lower Attack Speed.

Abyss Impact

AOESlow

Brody launches a shock wave in the designated direction, dealing 150–550 (+170% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage, slowing the enemies by 30% for 1.2 seconds, and applying 1 stack of Abyss Mark. As the shock wave travels, for each enemy it hits, it deals an extra 10% damage, inflicts extra 5% slow effect, and applies an additional stack of Abyss Mark, capped at 130% damage, 45% slow effect, and 4 stacks. This skill deals only 80%-100% damage to minions.

Playing Brody well

  1. 1

Land Abyss Impact or a marked Basic Attack before committing Corrosive Strike, so the stun combo already has a stack ticking

  2. 2

Save Torn-Apart Memory until multiple enemies are marked and clustered — it hits everyone in the 8-yard radius, not just your primary target

  3. 3

Use the movement freedom from Abyss Corrosion to walk around obstacles mid wind-up instead of stopping to reposition

  4. 4

Cast Abyss Impact through the enemy's escape path before engaging so fleeing marked targets can't outrun the detonation window

Brody — common questions

Is Brody good for beginners?

He's approachable — his combo is a simple mark-then-detonate loop with a built-in dash-stun — but landing Torn-Apart Memory on multiple marked targets takes positioning practice. A reasonable pick for players moving up from simpler marksmen.

What is the best build for Brody?

Swift Boots into Berserker's Fury, Demon Hunter Sword, and Malefic Roar covers crit, penetration, and burst scaling for his Abyss Mark detonation. Swap in Windtalker or Wind of Nature depending on the enemy comp.

Which heroes counter Brody?

Diggie's Time Journey cleanses his stun and slow and speeds his team out of the detonation radius, Kaja's Divine Judgement suppression locks him out of the fight entirely, and Gloo's Sticky stacks blunt his damage before Grab, Grab attaches and pipes 80% of the damage Gloo takes into his HP bar.

Why is Torn-Apart Memory doing no damage?

The ultimate's bonus damage only triggers off existing Abyss Mark stacks — hitting an unmarked target with it does base damage only. Land Abyss Impact or a few Basic Attacks first.
